Ever since Sandy was a little puppy, the Manthey family has always been a part of his life. According to Karen Manthey, Sandy’s fur mom, the pup is very protective of them and would make it a point to be involved in everything they do. Sandy would also watch them closely to make sure they are safe.
Karen related that one time when they went on a camping trip with Sandy, there were times when they would separate into two groups. One group would be chilling at the campsite while the other group would be by the lake. Not wanting to leave any group by themselves, the pup ran back and forth from the campsite to the lake, which was five miles away, to check on everybody.
And whenever his human siblings are leaving to go to school, Sandy tries to sneak out and follow them. The couple times that the pup sneaked out, his siblings noticed him following them from behind and would walk him back to the house before resuming their walk to school. But one day, the pup was successfully able to trail behind his siblings up to their school!
When his siblings and their schoolmates saw Sandy arrive at the school, they were completely amused. The pup was then sent to the Principal’s office, where the school faculty staff tried to contact Karen to pick Sandy up. However, they weren’t able to contact her, so they had one of the pup’s siblings walk him back home.
Karen said that she was shocked when her daughter came back home with Sandy beside her. As it turns out, she didn’t even notice that the pup was missing and her phone wasn’t turned on, which explains why the school couldn’t contact her. Good thing for them, they lived close by the school. As for Sandy, he obviously enjoyed his sneaky adventure and didn’t feel guilty about it in the slightest bit.
But Karen was worried that Sandy’s unexpected visit had disturbed the school, so she immediately went to the school to apologize to the school faculty staff. They reassured Karen that they weren’t upset and that they were even happy to see Sandy drop by. Karen then says that Sandy is usually an obedient pup who follows the rules, but at times his emotions overtake his obedience. At the end of the day, his family is very grateful to Sandy for always making sure that they are all safe.
