Smart Dog Saved Her Dad’s Life By Calling Her Mom’s Attention

Smart Dog Saved Her Dad’s Life By Calling Her Mom’s Attention

Can you imagine if dogs aren’t as smart as they are? We would probably still love them as much, but we wouldn’t be able to read about incredible stories where they save the day. They are so smart that they are able to distinguish if a human is just sleeping or if something is wrong.

That’s exactly what Sweet Dee did for her dog dad Elliot Nerman. Elliot lives in Boston with his wife and, of course, their fur baby, Sweet Dee. Seems like a typical happy and healthy American family. Well, not quite. Elliot is suffering from a rare heart condition, which causes him to pass out.

Every time he does, Elliot needs to be rushed to the hospital to receive medical attention. But what if nobody is around to bring him to the hospital? Well, the unthinkable almost happened. One day, Elliot started feeling chest pains, so he decided to text his doctor about it.

While he was texting with his cardiologist, Elliot decided to lie down their living room couch because he suddenly felt fatigued. What he didn’t realize was that his heart condition was acting up, and he needed to be rushed to the hospital. But it was too late, Elliot passed out with his mobile phone on his chest.

Anyone would’ve thought that Elliot was just dozing off. But not, Sweet Dee. We aren’t sure how, but she knew that something was not right. So, she sought help. Sweet Dee ran to her parents’ bedroom, where Elliot’s wife was sleeping. The pooch woke her up and led her mom to Elliot.

When Elliot’s wife tried to wake her husband up, she realized what was happening and called 911 right away. Elliot spent two days in the hospital but was then later released. His cardiologist shared that he was lucky Sweet Dee acted on the situation. If not, this story would’ve had a sad ending.
